Now Accepting Nominations for the Annual Healthcare Leadership Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the annual MHA Healthcare Leadership Award, which honors those who have demonstrated outstanding healthcare leadership within individual facilities and in their communities. The deadline to nominate an exceptional healthcare trustee, executive, physician, nurse or other leader for the award is by 5 p.m. March 29.

A nominee must represent an MHA-member organization in good standing and have been actively involved with the healthcare organization within the last three years to be eligible. Award winners for 2024 will be presented during the MHA Annual Membership Meeting in June.

If you’re a U.S. health industry watcher, it would appear the $4.5 trillion system is under fire at every corner. Pressures to lower costs, increase accessibility and affordability to all populations, disclose prices and demonstrate value are hitting every sector. Complicating matters, state and federal legislators are challenging ‘business as usual’ seeking ways to spend tax dollars more wisely with surprisingly strong bipartisan support on many issues. No sector faces these challenges more intensely than hospitals. …

Nonetheless, conflict resolution on these issues must be pursued if hospitals are to be effective, affordable and accessible contributors and/or hubs for community health systems in the future. The risks of inaction for society, the communities served and the 5.48 million (NAICS Bureau of Labor 622) employed in the sector cannot be overstated. The likelihood they can be resolved without the addition of new voices and fresh solutions is unlikely.”

Attending the conference provides human resource (HR) professionals with an opportunity to network with other industry experts for idea sharing.

Attendees will:

  • Collaborate with other experts in the field to create workable solutions.
  • Develop strategies to find innovative and workable solutions to ensure viability.
  • Learn from experts and peers about creative and innovative solutions to top ongoing challenges.
  • Build relationships that come from the power of in-person knowledge sharing, laughing together and bonding over commonalities in the industry.

Now Accepting Nominations for the 2024 MHA Ludwig Community Benefit Award

Member News

The MHA is accepting nominations for the 2024 Ludwig Community Benefit Award, which recognizes healthcare organizations that improve the health and well-being of their communities through collaborative health, economic or social initiatives. Benefits provided include free or discounted services, health screenings, immunizations, family support services, meals, nutritional services and other assistance to the neighborhoods the hospital serves.

In conjunction with the award, the MHA Health Foundation’s Community Health Improvement Fund presents a $5,000 cash prize to assist the winning programs in their efforts to improve the health of their communities.

Nominations will be accepted electronically until the close of business Feb. 16.
