The U.S. Anxiety Pandemic

“The U.S. bombing of Iran’s nuclear capability is unsettling: whether MAGA or not, hawk or dove, young or old, conservative or liberal, rich or poor—it matters. Stability at home and abroad is utopian to some but desired by all. Pandemics, mass violence, natural disasters and even election results contribute to instability and lend to insecurity. Operation Midnight Hammer might contribute to the nation’s anxiety—time will tell. …

Nothing could be more timely and necessary to the Commission’s work than addressing mass anxiety and mental health as a national priority. And nothing is more urgently needed in communities than mainstreaming anxiety and mental health into the systems of health that accept full risk for whole person health.”

Deadline Approaching to Register for MHA Annual Membership Meeting

Member News

The deadline to register for the 2025 MHA Annual Membership Meeting is Friday, May 23. The event will be held June 25 through 27 at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

The annual meeting offers members an opportunity to learn, network and celebrate accomplishments from the past program year. Continuing Medical Education credits and American College of Healthcare Executives credits will be available for select plenary sessions.

Plenary session topics include:

  • The potential and limitations of artificial intelligence.
  • Maternal health collaboratives improving patient safety and quality.
  • Using analytics and operational science to support decision-making.

An additional session for physicians and nurses will explore the triad leadership model and its impact on healthcare delivery, offering supplemental CME hours.

Networking activities will include the popular lawn party with games and entertainment, an ice cream social and other opportunities to connect with peers while enjoying Mackinac Island. Members with questions should contact the MHA Field Engagement team or call (517) 323-3443.

The MHA membership will convene in person for the MHA Annual Membership Meeting June 25 –27 at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. The annual membership meeting is an opportunity to learn, network and celebrate the accomplishments of the program year. Plenary sessions outline how to embrace transformative technologies, like artificial intelligence, to enhance business decisions; share examples of maternal health collaboratives proven to reduce mortality and improve patient safety and quality and financial and operational strategies essential for long-term success.

Several networking opportunities provide time for members to reconnect in the most beautiful location on Mackinac Island. The meeting includes the popular lawn party with games and entertainment, the ice cream social and many more relationship-building opportunities.

Registration is now open for the MHA Annual Membership Meeting June 25 through 27 at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

The annual meeting will feature an outstanding lineup of speakers, including Geeta Nayyar, MD, MBA, a globally recognized chief medical officer, technologist and bestselling author. She will decode AI hype versus reality and provide examples of promising partnerships between healthcare and technology organizations. She will also expand on how AI can build patient engagement and trust in today’s misinformation society.

A panel will feature statewide leaders in maternal health, who will explore the treatment of maternal health risks that result in healthier moms and babies, and solutions within individual communities, led by local agencies that can provide social services and other support systems for women.

The MHA Annual Membership Meeting also includes the popular lawn party, with games and entertainment, an ice cream social and many more relationship-building opportunities. New this year is a Sip N’ Sail cruise, which underwrites the health improvement programs recognized by the MHA Health Foundation Ludwig Community Benefits Award.
