Registration Open for MHA Communications Retreat

MHA Communications Retreat

Communications and public relations personnel in Michigan hospitals are invited to join their peers from across the state from 1 to 2:45 p.m. May 26 for an abbreviated retreat geared toward the specific needs of hospital communicators. Whether their focus is on social media, media relations, marketing, public relations or another area of expertise, hospital communicators will find it valuable to join the retreat to discuss a topic that is critical to all healthcare organizations: effectively communicating with vulnerable populations to help improve health equity.

Expert speakers will join the fully virtual retreat to discuss the following timely issues:

  • Research into how to effectively reach socially vulnerable populations and craft effective messaging for the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Health equity, with a communications lens, from two experts in public health and reaching vulnerable communities.
  • Communication tools and resources available today for hospitals from partners at the American Hospital Association to improve health equity communications efforts.
  • An MHA update on health equity work, COVID-19 and more.

There is no cost to join the virtual retreat. Online registration is available for the event via the MHA Member Portal. Participants will receive dial-in information within a week of registering. Contact Ruthanne Sudderth at the MHA for more information.
