• The deadline to submit nominations for the 2026 Advancing Safe Care Award has been extended to Aug. 26. Member hospitals are encouraged to nominate teams leading efforts to prevent workplace violence and improve employee safety. Members with questions may contact Erica Leyko at the MHA.
• Registration is open for the 2026 MHA Small and Rural Advocacy Day on Sept. 16 in Lansing. Small and rural hospital leaders should register by Sept. 4 to meet with lawmakers and advocate for policies supporting rural healthcare.  Members with questions may contact the MHA Center of Rural Excellence.
• ICYMI: The MHA recently published the 2026 Economic Impact of Healthcare in Michigan report, highlighting healthcare’s role as a leading economic driver in Michigan, supporting more than one million jobs and generating $115 billion in economic value.
• The American Hospital Association (AHA) is accepting applications for the 2027 AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award, recognizing hospital-community partnerships that improve community health. Eligible AHA member hospitals are encouraged to apply by noon CT Oct. 8. MHA members with questions may contact the AHA.
