Michigan Nursing Leaders Discuss Workforce, Patient Safety and Care Innovation

Michigan chief nursing officers convened Aug. 27 at the MHA CNO Statewide Forum to discuss strategies for advancing patient safety, supporting the nursing workforce and improving care delivery. Amy Brown, RN, chief nursing officer, MHA, and executive director, MHA Keystone Center, joined nursing leaders from across the state for the meeting at the MHA headquarters.

Participants shared successful approaches, lessons learned and emerging ideas for addressing challenges affecting nurses, patients and communities. The discussion emphasized collaboration among nursing leaders as hospitals and health systems work to strengthen the workforce and advance safe, high-quality care.

The forum provided nursing leaders an opportunity to build connections, exchange practical insights and identify shared priorities that will help shape the future of nursing in Michigan. “When nursing leaders come together, shared challenges become opportunities for meaningful progress,” said Brown.

“The insight and experience shared during this forum will help nursing leaders strengthen their organizations, support their teams and continue improving care for patients and communities across Michigan.”
