Hosted by the Michigan Center for Rural Health, the event will bring together healthcare leaders, clinicians, hospice professionals, social workers, community health workers and community partners from across the state to explore approaches to expanding palliative care services in rural communities.

Attendees will hear from experts and practitioners from across Michigan on topics including:

  • Rural palliative care trends and emerging models of care
  • Community-based palliative care programs
  • Advance care planning
  • Workforce development and sustainability
  • Dementia care best practices
  • Community partnerships and age-friendly initiatives

Healthcare professionals and organizations seeking to strengthen access to palliative care and improve quality of life for patients facing serious illness are encouraged to attend. Educational sessions will offer opportunities for learning, networking and sharing successful approaches to care delivery. Continuing education credits are being pursued for multiple professional disciplines.

Members are encouraged to register by Sept. 8. Members with questions may contact Ewa Panetta at the MHA.
