Why it Matters

The attorney general serves as Michigan’s chief legal officer and plays an important role in enforcing state law, protecting consumers and representing the state in legal matters. Decisions made by the office can intersect with issues affecting Michigan hospitals, patients and communities, including healthcare regulations, consumer protection, public health and other legal matters.
