The MHA Excellence in Governance Fellowship recently kicked off its 2026-27 program, bringing together healthcare trustees and leaders for the first session of this year’s learning experience.

The opening session provided fellows with an opportunity to connect with peers, build relationships and begin exploring the important role strong governance plays in advancing organizational strategy and supporting Michigan’s healthcare organizations. Through discussion and shared learning, participants began laying out the foundation for the conversations and experiences that will continue throughout the fellowship.
Over the coming months, the 2026-2027 class will continue building its governance knowledge, exchanging perspectives with fellow healthcare leaders and exploring approaches that can strengthen board leadership and effectiveness.
