The July edition of Trustee Insights, the monthly digital package from the American Hospital Association (AHA), highlights podcasts, videos, webinars and other resources on today’s most pressing issues. The July article features a critical access hospital’s (CAH) framework for evaluating artificial intelligence (AI), considering fewer resources to manage, track and evaluate AI solutions. The AI governance committee brings together AI leaders, data scientists and the board serves as both a guardrail and a strategic lens for evaluating AI’s role in the organization, so the hospital does not miss opportunities available to larger, better-resourced organizations.
The July issue also outlines why trustees should serve as ambassadors and gain firsthand exposure to care delivery, workforce challenges and patient experiences through board activities such as community “familiarization” tours and patient and family advisory interactions.
