MHA Executive Vice President Laura Appel recently represented the association at events addressing two key healthcare issues: affordability and the role of nutrition in improving health.
Appel participated in an Oct. 26 event in Grand Rapids highlighting efforts to advance healthier food and nutrition education in healthcare. Following the roundtable discussion, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services held a press conference highlighting its Nutrition Education Pledge, which garnered media coverage from local and statewide outlets.
Appel was also featured in Bridge Michigan’s coverage of its inaugural Bridge Issues Summit, where she joined a panel discussion examining healthcare affordability and factors contributing to rising costs.
Members with questions regarding media requests should contact Elise Gonzales at the MHA.
