AHA Releases Disability Health Resources and Announces Listening Sessions

The American Hospital Association (AHA) recently released a resource hub and issue brief to help hospitals and health systems strengthen disability competence, improve accessibility and advance health outcomes for people with disabilities.

Members can access practical guidance for identifying and addressing barriers to care, enhancing accessibility and advancing person-centered practices on the AHA’s Improving Care and Health Outcomes for People with Disabilities webpage.

The AHA will also host listening sessions to gather input from hospitals, health systems, patients, caregivers and community partners. The discussions will address strategies to improve access to care, reduce gaps in health outcomes and strengthen future disability health initiatives.
