The MHA Keystone Center, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and on behalf of the Michigan Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (MI AIM), hosted the first round of the 2026 MI AIM Regional Training Sessions last month.

2026 MI AIM Regional Training Sessions began in late September.
Sessions were held Sept. 22 at Trinity Health Oakland, Sept. 23 at Trinity Health Ann Arbor and Sept. 24 at McLaren Bay Region. Each session brought together participants from birthing hospitals across regions 5, 6, 9 and 10.
Participants reviewed Michigan maternal mortality and hypertension data trends and learned how to use hospital and regional-level data to inform quality improvement efforts. Attendees also participated in interactive hypertension case reviews and small-group discussions, networked with peers and shared strategies for implementing maternal safety initiatives within their hospitals.
Attendees also received resources to support the implementation of AIM Perinatal Substance Use Disorder (PSUD) Patient Safety Bundles and heard directly from local peer navigators who shared real-world experiences supporting birthing patients across Michigan.
MI AIM will host four additional regional training sessions across the state. Eligible participants are encouraged to register and join colleagues from across Michigan to advance maternal health quality and safety. Continuing Education (CE) and Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits will be available.
Upcoming sessions include:
