"I chose nursing because I had a strong desire to serve and make a difference in how we care for our patients and the community," says Jodi Stein, MSN, RN, chief nursing officer at McLaren Greater Lansing. "I have a family history of nurses, most importantly my mother, who had a profound impact on why I became a nurse. Her oncology career helped me realize how vital empathy, respect and advocacy are when caring for a patient.
