Three Upcoming MHA Workforce Webinars Provide Continuing Education

The MHA and other state hospital associations are hosting three workforce webinars in partnership with the Huron Consulting Group, a firm helping organizations develop future-ready leaders that can drive meaningful cultural and organizational change. Continuing medical education and continuing education credit for nurses and pharmacists is available for each webinar attended. By attending the MHA Virtual Leadership Series, participants may earn up to three (3) ACHE Qualified Education Hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.

The webinars are scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. EST on Sept. 14, Oct. 12 and Nov. 9., focusing on transforming organizations to attract, retain and promote high-performing talent.

Wonder Drug: The Science of Serving Others, presented by Anthony Mazzarelli, MD, JD, will explain how to build positive psychology in the workplace and in personal lives, and how treating one another affects well-being and resilience. The October and November webinars focus on effective communication and conflict management and workforce attraction and engagement. Speakers Pam Beitlich, DNP, APRN, and Holly Lorenz, DNP, RN, both have more than 35 years of experience in nursing administration.

Webinar Teaches Ways to Amplify Contributions of Physician Board Members

The webinar Maximizing Contributions of Physician Board Members from noon to 1 p.m. EST Oct. 17 will guide attendees to utilize physician expertise related to advising on patient care decisions, the ethical considerations around biomedical, artificial intelligence and transparency, and the best approaches to planning and executing change in technology and clinical care.

Participants will also receive ideas about how to better orient physicians to the board and handle inherent physician independence and potential conflicts of interest.

MHA members can register an unlimited number of board members for $195 per hospital. By attending the webinar, participants may earn up to one ACHE Qualified Education Hour toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.

MHA Webinar on Maximizing Contributions of Physician Board Members

How can leadership utilize the distinct skills and expertise of physician board members?

The MHA webinar Maximizing Contributions of Physician Board Members will take place from noon to 1 p.m. EST Oct. 17 will present research findings about the perceptions and experiences of physician board members and outline recommendations to maximize physician talent.

Participants will explore the key role physicians play in planning strategy and advising on patient care decisions, merger and acquisition activity and consolidation, ethical considerations around biomedical, artificial intelligence, transparency and other policies. Additionally, participants will learn strategies to effectively integrate physicians onto a board, how to facilitate physician independence and manage potential conflicts of interest.

MHA members can register for $195 per hospital. Participants may earn up to four ACHE Qualified Education Hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.
