PSO Annual MeetingThe MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety Organization (PSO) Annual Meeting will be held virtually the mornings of March 9 and 10, highlighting presentations on various issues facing healthcare systems. Amir Ghaferi, MD, MS, associate professor of surgery and business at the University of Michigan, will present on shifting one’s mindset to improve failure to rescue rates.

Failure to rescue captures the idea that, although not every complication of medical care is preventable, healthcare systems should be able to rapidly identify and treat complications when they occur. This presentation will review over a decade’s worth of investigation into understanding this concept and provide specific interventions to reduce failure to rescue rates.

Additional presentations will focus on health equity, opioid use disorder, maternal hypertension and safety culture, as well as updates about the MHA Keystone Center PSO. A detailed agenda is available on the event webpage. MHA Keystone Center PSO members may register at no cost.
