News to Know – Week of Dec. 21, 2020

The Michigan State Loan Repayment Program (MSLRP) helps employers recruit and retain medical, dental and mental health primary care providers to practice in underserved communities designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas. MSLRP will provide up to $200,000 in tax-free funds to repay selected applicants’ educational debt over a period of up to eight years of participation. Applications for 2021 will be accepted only from March 1 through March 5 and must be submitted through the File Transfer Application System. Strict procedures govern the application process, and providers are encouraged to thoroughly review the MSLRP website before applying. For more information, contact Brittany Brookshire at the Department of Health and Human Services.

The MHA Monday Report will not be published Dec. 28 and Jan. 4 due to the Christmas and New Year holidays. The next edition of Monday Report will be dated Jan. 11. Have a happy, healthy and safe holiday season!
