Michigan Harvest Gathering Launched Oct. 15

Michigan Harvest Gatherings

Michigan Harvest GatheringsHarsher weather, along with the long tail of the pandemic, will certainly cause hardship for the Food Bank Council of Michigan’s food distribution network and the families served. To help, hospitals and health systems can join the MHA in participating in the 2021 Michigan Harvest Gathering.

The Michigan Harvest Gathering will be conducted online from Oct. 15 through Nov. 12, using the same process as in 2020. Donations by hospital employees and community members to the Michigan Harvest Gathering program can be made through the Food Bank Council of Michigan’s website. When landing on this page, donors can choose their monetary donation and then use the Donor Information drop-down box to scroll down to find the hospital or health system they are affiliated with (hospitals and health systems are listed alphabetically). After selecting the hospital or health system, donors will enter personal and payment information and submit their contribution. The Food Bank Council of Michigan will provide the MHA with the total contributions by hospital or health system following the campaign.

Organizations that have decided to conduct a local food drive with community partners are asked to report the total food collected or financial donations received for the Michigan Harvest Gathering to Erica Leyko at the MHA.

Members with questions about the Michigan Harvest Gathering may contact Erin Steward at the MHA.
