Equity in care ensures that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain optimal health. Inequities, or differences in people’s health outcomes, are unjust and are a product of shortcomings in the healthcare structure and society. To achieve equity for all, organizations across the healthcare continuum must work to build cross-sectional partnerships and work together to remove obstacles that adversely impact health outcomes.
To continue the mission of supporting healthcare providers to achieve excellence in the outcomes desired by the people they serve, the MHA Keystone Center will host a Twitter chat on health equity from noon to 1 p.m. EST Nov. 19. During the event, the MHA Keystone Center will moderate and lead the conversation, asking questions from @MHAKeystoneCtr. MHA-member hospitals are encouraged to share their current initiatives and success stories using the hashtag #KeystoneHealthEquity.
The Nov. 19 Twitter chat aims to create discussion around disparities that exist across the healthcare continuum, establish a common understanding of health organizations’ role in addressing health disparities to achieve equity in care, and provide targeted resources to support organizations as they strive to achieve equity in care.
