The MHA, the Food Bank Council of Michigan and the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association will publicly announce the 2021 Michigan Harvest Gathering and Michigan Meal Challenge campaign Oct. 26. MHA CEO Brian Peters will speak on behalf of Michigan hospitals at the event in Lansing.
Many Michigan hospitals’ Michigan Harvest Gathering campaigns are underway and will run through Nov. 12. Hospital employees and community members can make online donations to the Michigan Harvest Gathering program through the Food Bank Council of Michigan’s website. When landing on the donation page, donors can choose their monetary contribution and, from the Select a Team drop-down box, scroll down to find the hospital or health system to which they are attributing the gift (hospitals and health systems are listed alphabetically). After selecting a team, donors will enter personal information and payment and submit their contribution. The Food Bank Council of Michigan will provide the MHA with the total contributions by hospital or health system following the campaign.
Organizations that are conducting a local food drive with a community partner should report the total food collected or financial donations received for the Michigan Harvest Gathering to Erica Leyko at the MHA.
