The state of Michigan has agreed to immediately distribute $25 million to Michigan hospitals in response to the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The funding is allocated from the COVID-19 relief funding that was included in a supplemental bill signed into law March 30. The bill provides $50 million in funding dedicated to expanding the capacity and capabilities of healthcare providers to treat COVID-19 patients. The MHA will continue to work with state officials to ensure available funding is distributed to support hospital COVID-19 response activities.
The MHA thanks state officials for their ongoing partnership with Michigan hospitals, which serve as the front-line in the state’s pandemic response. Members with questions regarding policy should contact Jason Jorkasky or Adam Carlson regarding advocacy.
