The Michigan Health & Hospital Association is pleased that policymakers have reached an agreement that restores vital hospital funding in the fiscal year 2020 budget.
The Michigan Health & Hospital Association is disappointed with the governor’s line-item vetoes in the fiscal year 2020 budget for the state Department of Health and Human Services.
The Michigan Health & Hospital Association fully supports the fiscal year 2020 legislative budget that will make key strides in protecting and improving access and quality of care for Michigan residents. 
On Sept. 19, the Joint House and Senate Conference Committee on Health and Human Services reported its fiscal year (FY) 2020 budget recommendation, which takes significant steps to improve Medicaid reimbursement rates paid to hospitals in Michigan.
The Michigan House of Representatives approved the state health and human services fiscal year 2020 budget June 12. In approving the budget, the House offered no amendments to the proposal initially reported May 14.

The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Community Health/Human Services reported its fiscal year (FY) 2020 budget proposal April 25. 
On March 5, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer presented her fiscal year (FY) 2020 executive budget proposal to the Legislature.
