Entries for 'lame duck'

Weekly news and updates from the MHA.
Monday Report | January 07
The 2018 lame-duck session came to a close the morning of Dec. 21 following marathon overnight sessions in both the House and the Senate.
We applaud the House’s decision to table the lame-duck discussion on auto no-fault.
Once again, the House is poised to take a vote on an auto no-fault insurance proposal that is being sold as a “grand bargain” that, upon review, provides no guaranteed or permanent rate relief for drivers and fewer protections for those injured in car accidents.
The MHA's Chris Mitchell and Laura Appel spoke to Crain's Detroit Business in a Dec. 17, 2018, article about a last-minute effort to dismantle Michigan's auto no-fault law during the final days of lame duck.
