In a Nov. 1 Detroit Free Press article, Laura Appel, senior vice president and chief innovation officer at the MHA, spoke to reporter J.C. Reindl about the impact of the Affordable Care Act on Michigan five years after the program launched.
The AP reported on a two-bill legislative package passed by the Michigan Senate that would reform major components of Michigan’s auto no-fault insurance law.
The MHA voiced its support of a bill that would regulate genetic counseling in Michigan in a June 9 story on MiBiz.com.
A May 7, 2018, article by Dawn Geskus for watchdog.org takes a look at legislation that would require able-bodied adults to work a minimum of 29 hours per week to keep their Medicaid benefits. 
The MHA’s testimony on a proposal to institute work requirements for Medicaid recipients in Michigan, including individuals enrolled in the Healthy Michigan Plan, was covered by outlets across the state.
