Trustee Offering to Examine Details of Healthcare Governance; Register by Sept. 22

Posted on September 14, 2017

The MHA will host a trustee orientation from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26 that is designed to inform healthcare board members about ways providers and the association are partnering to achieve statewide healthcare goals. The event will be held at the Country Club of Lansing, and registration will close Sept. 22.

The orientation will begin with a briefing on the MHA’s advocacy, access to care, and patient safety efforts. New hospital and health system CEOs are invited to join trustees for the MHA briefing. For those who attend only the MHA briefing, the session will adjourn at 10:30 a.m. The remainder of the day will consist of a trustee educational session addressing several items, including characteristics of an effective board; committee charges; governance leadership succession; duty of care, loyalty and obedience; and appropriate fiduciary and strategic questions.
