Statewide #MiCareMatters campaign to feature hospital stories
Posted on August 25, 2017
On Tuesday, the MHA is launching #MiCareMatters, a statewide campaign urging Michiganders who work in the healthcare field or anyone who cares about healthcare issues in Michigan to sign up to become a MiCare Champion at MiCareMatters.org.
The MHA spent much of the past year researching perceptions of healthcare and hospitals in Michigan. Based on the research findings and a thorough understanding of the threats, opportunities and uncertainty facing hospitals and healthcare today, the MHA has developed a public education campaign with the goal of building a network of citizens — “MiCare Champions” — who will be called on to engage in advocacy efforts to protect access to affordable healthcare services in Michigan.
The campaign will focus on sharing how Michigan hospitals are leading the way to create healthy, thriving communities with work that extends beyond the walls of hospitals. The cornerstone campaign video “Healing Hands” highlights some of these stories, and the campaign website includes a section dedicated to individual hospital stories.
The #MiCareMatters campaign includes videos, email marketing and social media advertising to reach Michiganders likely to take action on healthcare issues.
The MHA is asking all Michigan hospital and healthcare workers to get involved in the campaign by:
- Signing up to become a MiCare Champion at MiCareMatters.org
- Encouraging colleagues, friends and family to sign up
Michigan hospitals for decades have championed public policies to provide and expand access to healthcare services for patients and communities across the state. MiCareMatters is the next step in hospitals’ collective advocacy, and its success depends on everyone in the healthcare family working together.
Hospitals can help in this effort by sharing #MiCareMatters resources with their employees and on social media. For more information, contact Ruthanne Sudderth at the MHA or visit MiCareMatters.org.
