Members Gather Virtually for MHA Keystone Center PSO Annual Meeting
Posted on March 11, 2021
Nearly 170 members virtually attended the MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety Organization (PSO) Annual Meeting March 9 and 10. Participants included safety teams — directors of safety and quality, risk managers, patient safety officers and clinical workers, among others — across Michigan and Indiana.
The annual event aims to bring together clinical and safety experts to foster learning around key issues facing hospitals and healthcare systems. Randolph Rasch, PhD, RN, FAANP, dean and professor at the Michigan State University College of Nursing, kicked off the event by discussing health equity and examining disparities in healthcare. Participants were made aware of new implicit bias self-assessment tools and strategies for facilitating transparent conversations among staff.
Additional presentations covered opioid use disorder, maternal hypertension, failure to rescue and safety culture programs.
Members with questions may contact the MHA Keystone Center PSO.
