Headline Roundup: Week of Dec. 7 for COVID-19 in Michigan

Posted on December 09, 2020

As Michigan hospitals address a second surge of COVID-19 patients, the MHA has been actively fielding and responding to media requests related to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) COVID-19 epidemic order, COVID-19 vaccine distribution and other areas of response.

The MHA published the morning of Dec. 7 a joint statement on behalf of chief medical officers (CMOs) of Michigan hospitals and health systems urging state leaders to continue COVID-19 protections through the holiday season. Following the extension of the MDHHS epidemic order that afternoon, the MHA also issued a statement of support from MHA CEO Brian Peters.

The joint CMO statement received statewide and national coverage. Below is a collection of headlines that include statements from the MHA on the extension of the MDHHS order and other COVID-19-related topics. Please note that the below collection of headlines does not include media clips from outlets that published stories from syndicated publications, such as the Associated Press, Gannett or MLive.
