Participate in Updating Michigan’s Health IT Roadmap

Posted on October 16, 2020

The Michigan Health Information Technology (IT) Commission and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) have begun developing a Statewide Five-Year Health IT Roadmap, which will be a guide for future planning, investments and governance of health information technology (HIT) and health information exchange (HIE) for the state of Michigan.

MHA members are encouraged to participate in an informational survey to provide hospital/health system input for this project. These insights will help shape the future of HIT and HIE for the state of Michigan. Each organization should select the appropriate individual(s) to complete the survey, which should take approximately 20 minutes, and submit it by Nov. 17.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted, critical HIT and HIE services to support real-time clinical interventions, care coordination, referrals to social support services and research is imperative to supporting the health and well-being of the communities that hospitals serve. Candid responses to the survey questions will be very valuable and appreciated. For more information on this effort, visit the state website or contact Renée Smiddy at the MHA.
