News to Know – Week of Sept. 21

Posted on September 19, 2020

Important healthcare news for the week of Sept. 21:

  • As the MHA recently reported, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released a final rule to update the Medicare fee-for-service inpatient prospective payment system (IPPS) for fiscal year 2021, which begins Oct. 1. The MHA will distribute an updated impact analysis to hospitals in the next few weeks. Hospitals are invited to participate in a national webinar on the IPPS update hosted by DataGen from 3 to 4 p.m. Sept. 30. The webinar is available free of charge but registration is required. Members with questions may contact Vickie Kunz at the MHA.
  • Nov. 3 is Election Day, and the MHA’s MI Vote Matters campaign has materials available for members’ use to encourage their communities to exercise their right to vote and to support healthcare priorities. Members may request complimentary copies of MI Vote Matters informational posters and the 2020 MHA Candidate Guide for use in their facilities and communities. A dedicated MI Vote Matters webpage is regularly updated with 2020 election information, and social media conversations are easy to start with the hashtag #MIVoteMatters. Questions regarding the election should be directed to Chris Mitchell at the MHA.
