MHA Featured in Healthcare IT News Story on COVID-19 Data Reporting

Posted on August 18, 2020

Healthcare IT News published a story August 17 that includes quotes from Jim Lee, vice president, data policy & analytics, MHA, on the implementation of data reporting requirements to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Lee provides an update on how the change in reporting requirements went for Michigan hospitals and the successful integration of Michigan’s data system with new HHS data fields.

"Since the implementation of the new COVID-19 data requirements to HHS, the state of Michigan successfully integrated their data system with the HHS TeleTracking portal, allowing our members to submit data to the state and having that data submitted to the federal HHS on their behalf," said Lee. “Taking effect August 4, this change removes the burden of a dual entry reporting process for our members.”
