Peters also encouraged the state to increase access to testing and supplies and urged Michigan residents to heed the guidance from the state on social distancing.
Following Peters, Ruthanne Sudderth, senior vice president, public affairs and communications, MHA, addressed how hospitals are responding to the pandemic, including implementing visitor restrictions, COVID-19 cases and data, details on testing procedures, and guidance for the public.
Laura Appel, senior vice president and chief innovation officer, MHA, also provided an update on actions being taken at the federal level.
The MHA will continue to provide regular media availability to help unburden member media relations teams and spread consistent messages to the public.
