Patient Safety Journal Recognizes the MHA Keystone Center

Posted on February 14, 2020

The December 2019 issue of the journal Patient Safety highlights the MHA Keystone Center’s role in reducing adverse drug events (ADEs) in its member hospitals. Three of the article’s authors are currently pharmacists at Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids.

Patient Safety is a Pennsylvania-based journal committed to giving clinicians, administrators and patients everywhere the information they need to prevent harm and improve safety. The article references the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Global Trigger Tool and how this methodology was useful for identifying ADEs related to hypoglycemia with insulin and naloxone administration. The MHA Keystone Center is noted on page 16 of the issue for its efforts in reducing patient harm and improving care through its quality improvement collaborations.
