MHA CEO Brian PetersThe Michigan Health & Hospital Association is thankful that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive budget recommendation protects vital healthcare funding for hospitals, maintaining access to care for residents across the state. We are pleased to see increased support for the state’s Medicaid program, including the extension of Medicaid postpartum benefits for mothers to a full year and the first outpatient Medicaid fee increase since 2002. Ensuring continued support for rural and critical access hospitals, obstetrical services, graduate medical education and the Healthy Michigan Plan means the improved health and wellness of Michigan. We look forward to working with the Michigan legislature to ensure all of our budget priorities are included throughout the appropriations process.
