Superior Health Quality Alliance Awarded New CMS Contract

Posted on November 20, 2019

The first contract has been awarded to a new multistate organization that will broaden the MHA’s work on safety and quality improvement.

The Superior Health Quality Alliance (SHQA) announced that it received a five-year contract from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for healthcare quality improvement work focused on nursing homes and community coalitions.

The MHA is one of eight organizations participating in the SHQA, with the mission to improve the quality of health and health care through innovation, effectiveness and efficiency in designing and implementing CMS Network of Quality Improvement and Innovation Contractors initiatives that are person-centered and integrated across the continuum of care and services.

Since 2011, the MHA Keystone Center has partnered with multistate organizations to share solutions that have been successful in rural, urban and suburban communities across the country. Partnering with the SHQA will allow the MHA to continue implementing innovations necessary to achieve goals to prevent harm, save lives and lower healthcare costs.
