Inaugural Implementation Science Influencer Certification Course Deemed Successful
Posted on October 24, 2019
The MHA Keystone Center, in partnership with Vlasic & Roth, hosted 42 professionals from across Michigan Oct. 15 for the inaugural Implementation Science Influencer certification course. Attendees included infection control, sepsis and quality coordinators; chief quality officers; and directors of regulatory compliance accreditation.
Implementation science transforms evidence-based practices into actionable change organizationwide, such as assessing barriers and selecting effective strategies to change behavior and improve healthcare outcomes.
The unique event allowed participants to work through actual implementation rollouts provided by Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, and the opportunity to present action plans for changes within their health systems. Additionally, participants were provided strategies, tools and a framework for effective implementation of best practice research to ensure success and sustainability.
The certification course included virtual training that was completed before the in-person boot-camp. It prepared participants with adequate background information to join in the day-long interactive session and understand the practical application of the tools in their everyday quality improvement work.
Registration information for a second certification course in spring 2020 will be forthcoming. Additional information on the Implementation Certification Course can be found on the Implementation Certification website. Members with questions may contact the MHA Keystone Center.
