Headline Roundup: MHA Response to State Budget Vetoes

The MHA conducted numerous interviews with news outlets across the state and issued a media statement following Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s line-item vetoes cut healthcare funding.

On Monday, Sept. 30, Governor Whitmer issued 147 line-item vetoes to the state budget that began Oct. 1. The vetoes cut funding for critical access hospitals, rural hospitals, rural obstetrics and Medicaid reimbursement.

The MHA will work diligently with the Whitmer administration and state Legislature to restore hospital funding that had bipartisan support.
