News to Know - Week of May 20

Upcoming events and important healthcare news for the week of May 20:

  • The MHA Legislative Policy Panel will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the MHA Capitol Advocacy Center in downtown Lansing. For more information, contact Chris Mitchell at the MHA.
  • The MHA Keystone Center Spring Workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 30 at The Henry Autograph Collection, Dearborn. The interactive event will focus on simulation education and how to improve patient safety and quality of care. Members with questions may contact the MHA Keystone Center.
  • Registration closes June 4 for the June 18 conference Pediatric Patients: Bridging the Readiness Gaps. There is an in-person session at the Lansing Center in downtown Lansing and concurrent livestreaming sessions in Gaylord and Marquette. Hosted by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of EMS, Trauma and Preparedness, the full-day conference is designed to bring together key professional stakeholders who oversee the care of pediatric patients from the pre-hospital setting to the emergency department and beyond. Continuing Medical Education and Social Worker credits are in process, and six EMS credits are available for the conference. The event is free of charge, but registration is required.   • MHA offices will be closed May 27 for the Memorial Day holiday. The MHA Monday Report newsletter will not be published that day. However, the latest news will be published in the MHA Newsroom throughout the previous week. The next issue of the Monday Report will be dated June 3. Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!
