MHA Keystone Center Spring Workshop Fast Approaching, Register Now
Posted on May 03, 2019
Members are encouraged to register now for the MHA Keystone Center Spring Workshop, a unique learning event that will take place May 30 at The Henry, Autograph Collection, Dearborn.
In response to member feedback on the successful critical care and sepsis simulations offered throughout 2017 and 2018, spring workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn how to facilitate their own simulations and improve communication among staff.
Simulations give healthcare professionals scenario-based training and help them walk through a serious medical event to learn and understand a patient’s needs.
Participants do not need access to a simulation lab or advanced devices to attend the event or conduct their own simulation in the future. Featured speaker, Lisa Barker, MD, director of education, Jump Simulation, Peoria, IL, will discuss how healthcare professionals can perform a low-fidelity, low-cost healthcare simulation.
During the event, Pat Posa, BSN, MSA, RN, system performance improvement leader, St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, will discuss sepsis tracers, which walk through a patient’s hospital stay from arrival to discharge to better understand the delivery of care. In addition, Posa will moderate a panel discussion with sepsis coordinators Carolyn Hoy, Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, and Claudia Orth, RN, Munson Medical Center, Traverse City.
Members with questions about this event may contact the MHA Keystone Center.
