Pediatrics Addressed at MHA Keystone Center PSO Safe Table

Posted on April 24, 2019

All hospitals, regardless of size, location or affiliation have their own, unique struggles. Speaking to peers and other healthcare professionals can often help find ways to collaborate, improve or standardize processes, learn from each other and determine best practices. Speaking in a legally protected environment allows sensitive information to be shared, without fear of retribution or retaliation.

Safe tables are exclusively offered to MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety Organization (PSO) members. Participants discuss patient safety topics, explore ways to eliminate adverse events and review data from the MHA Keystone Center PSO database.

The April 18 safe table was held at MHA headquarters in Okemos. The event allowed representatives from six member hospitals to connect with peers on pediatric-related issues. Attendees were heavily engaged in conversation and committed to building relationships to keep patients safe and advance care, even after the event concluded.

The MHA Keystone Center PSO will host another safe table June 4 to investigate and collaborate on timely issues related to patient falls. The event will be held from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Schoolcraft College – VisTaTech Center, Livonia. Members with questions may contact the MHA Keystone Center PSO.
