Learn How to Respond to Requests for Animals in the Hospital

Posted on March 28, 2019

Whether it comes from an employee or a member of the public, a request to bring an animal into a hospital often catches people off guard and leaves them unsure of how to respond. The MHA Health Foundation webinar The Legal Landscape of Service and Assistance Animals will explain the various laws at play when it comes to bringing animals into a hospital. It will also review:

  • The difference between an “assistance animal” and a “service animal.”
  • Coverage of Title I, Title II and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Recent legal cases related to requests for animals in the workplace, including hospitals.
  • How to develop a process for managing requests for animals in a hospital.

The webinar is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. May 16 and MHA members can register for a connection fee of $195. Members with questions should contact Erica Leyko at the MHA.
