Information Available on FY 2016 Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital Audits

Posted on March 21, 2019

In late February, the MHA coordinated an educational webinar for the fiscal year (FY) 2016 Medicaid disproportionate share hospital (DSH) audits that are in process. The webinar featured a presentation by Myers and Stauffer LC, Michigan’s contractor for the federally mandated DSH audits.  Although the Michigan-specific webinar was not recorded, a recorded DSH update session provided by Myers and Stauffer is available that covers general Medicaid DSH information, instructions on completing the DSH survey, common issues from prior years and frequently asked questions. Materials from the Feb. 26 Michigan webinar are also available upon request.

Hospitals are reminded that completed surveys for the FY 2016 audits were due to Myers and Stauffer March 21. Hospitals that were unable to meet that deadline are encouraged to contact the company as soon as possible.

Myers and Stauffer will submit a draft audit report to the Medical Services Administration by Sept. 30, and a final report is due to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services by Dec. 31. Members with questions should contact Vickie Kunz at the MHA.
