Event, New Collaborative Focused on Workplace Safety
Posted on March 15, 2019
Nearly 80 MHA members met virtually and in-person March 11 as part of a new MHA Keystone Center collaborative on workplace safety. The kickoff event followed a week of Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM®) trainings hosted by the MHA and led by HSS, an MHA Service Corporation endorsed business partner.
Prior to the March 11 event, members were asked to compete a workplace safety assessment. Results were used to gauge current workplace safety efforts and statewide interest in the collaborative.
Attendees were able to take a deep dive into workplace safety-related data and risk-reduction strategies. Featured speakers, William (Bill) O’Rourke, senior advisor, Value Capture, LLC, Pittsburgh, and retired Alcoa vice president, and Bill Anderson, past senior vice president, SCL Health, Denver, discussed the importance of leadership engagement and safety culture.
The MHA plans to move forward with the information obtained during the March 11 event, continuing to build the collaborative and provide additional resources and educational opportunities for its members. Members with questions may contact the MHA Keystone Center.
