MHA Service Corporation Board Supports MHA Action Plan Priorities
Posted on February 14, 2019
The MHA Service Corporation (MHASC) convened a meeting of its recently appointed board Feb. 11. The new board provides oversight and direction for shaping current and future business services to hospitals and other entities in Michigan. The primary mission of the MHASC is delivering innovative solutions that help clients improve value and performance.
At its meeting, the MHASC board focused on the current MHA action plan and the role of the board in setting strategic direction. The association strategic action plan includes a goal on workplace safety and well-being, and the MHASC is active in providing business support and resources to address training needs in healthcare settings. An example is the recently established endorsed business partnership with HSS, a Denver-based security services company, which will provide regional de-escalation training for staff of MHA-member organizations in March. The training is designed for healthcare workers, including professional support staff and volunteers, who may encounter angry, disruptive, or potentially dangerous individuals.
In addition, the MHA Data Services team provided an update on its recent innovation process to develop new ideas for products or services and gathered input from the board for exploring priorities. Brian Stevens, MHA business development consultant, provided an update on the endorsed business partner program, including a discussion of the MHASC board’s role in evaluating opportunities. Questions regarding the MHASC board should be directed to Peter Schonfeld at the MHA.
