Medicare VBP Program Materials and Recording Available

Posted on January 31, 2019

The MHA and DataGen conducted a webinar Jan. 30 that provided an overview of the Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) value-based purchasing (VBP) program. A recording and materials from the webinar are available online for member use.

The VBP program was mandated by the Affordable Care Act and began in fiscal year 2013.  While this program is budget-neutral nationally, individual hospitals can earn more or less than their program contribution or remain whole. On a quarterly basis, following the release of updated data on Hospital Compare, the MHA provides hospitals with an updated estimate of their VBP program performance.

Another free educational webinar is offered Feb. 6 that will review the Medicare FFS readmissions and hospital-acquired conditions reduction programs, and the MHA encourages members to register.  Members with questions should contact Vickie Kunz at the MHA.
