No industry is more susceptible to misinformation than healthcare. Whether intended to mislead or not, healthcare misinformation is never harmless. That’s why it needs attention, especially considering its prominence in our economy and politics. Misinformation about healthcare is systemic for four reasons.”

News to Know

Upcoming events and important healthcare news for the week of Dec. 10:

  • The Great Lakes Partners for Patients Hospital Innovation Improvement Network High Reliability Organization monthly webinar will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
     
  • The MHA Michigan Green Healthcare Committee will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at MHA headquarters in Okemos.
     
  • The MHA Health Foundation webinar Developing a Plan of Action for Substance Use Recovery will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday.
     
  • Saturday, Dec. 15, is the deadline for open enrollment through Michigan’s health insurance marketplace, which was created under the Affordable Care Act.
