Upcoming events and important healthcare news for the week of Dec. 3:

  • The MHA Foundation webinar Riding the Disruption Wave in Healthcare: What to Know and How to Stay Relevant will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The webinar will help hospitals leaders find a sound strategy during these chaotic times that are changing the face of healthcare. For more information, contact Erica Leyko at the MHA.
     
  • An educational webinar hosted by the MHA and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday. This webinar will review the new system for submitting Medicaid cost reports, the Facility Settlement Subsystem of the Community Health Automated Medicaid Processing System (CHAMPS), which will be released Dec. 14. The webinar is free of charge, but registration is required. For more information, contact Vickie Kunz at the MHA.
     
  • The MHA Legislative Policy Panel will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the MHA Capitol Advocacy Center in Lansing. The panel will discuss the implications of the 2018 election and the lame-duck sessions in Lansing and Washington, DC. For more information, contact Chris Mitchell at the MHA.
     
  • The MHA Small or Rural Hospital Council will meet from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the MHA Capitol Advocacy Center in Lansing. Following a noon networking lunch, participants will receive updates on advocacy, financial policy and the MHA Keystone Center. There will also be a presentation from MHA Endorsed Business Partner HSS, Inc. on workplace safety. Virtual participation will be available for this meeting.   • A joint meeting of the MHA Council on Children’s Health and the MHA Behavioral and Physical Health Integration Task Force will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at MHA headquarters in Okemos. This meeting will include a detailed discussion of opportunities to enhance the behavioral health system for Michigan children. For more information, contact Britt Bogan at the MHA.
