MHA Congratulates Successful Election 2018 Candidates

The following statement can be attributed to Brian Peters, CEO of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association.

The Michigan Health & Hospital Association congratulates Michigan’s newly elected state and federal officials and looks forward to working with incoming lawmakers in 2019 and beyond. Healthcare was a major issue during this election; it was prominent in campaign contests in Michigan and across the nation, and there’s a good reason for that – our citizens are concerned about their own health and well-being and that of their families and communities.

Many of our lawmakers will be coming to Lansing or Washington, D.C. for the very first time. Our elected officials will be faced with making decisions on complex health policy issues among other duties, and, as an association, we pledge to work with and educate our lawmakers to show them firsthand the important role Michigan hospitals and healthcare systems serve in securing a healthy future for state residents.
