New Podcast Episode Previews Nov. 6 Election
Posted on November 02, 2018
Voters will be heading to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 6, and casting ballots for the key decision-makers on healthcare policy for the next two to four years.
The latest episode of the MiCare Champion Cast, the MHA’s podcast on issues surrounding healthcare, provides updates on the election and the importance of political engagement. The MHA has been active in encouraging voter participation, as engaged healthcare advocates and MiCare Champions are critical to a healthier future for our state.
The episode features interviews with Laura Appel, senior vice president and chief innovation officer, and MHA CEO Brian Peters. The episode can be heard on SoundCloud or iTunes. To listen on a mobile device, subscribe to the “MiCare Champion Cast” with a podcast app, such as Apple podcasts, Google Play, Stitcher and more.
The podcast is part of the statewide #MiCareMatters campaign, which was launched in 2017 and aims to build a network of citizens — “MiCare Champions” — who will be called upon to engage in advocacy efforts to protect access to affordable healthcare services in Michigan.
In addition to the podcast, the MHA has compiled Election 2018 resources for healthcare advocates and hospital members on its Election webpage, including Race of the Week summaries and nonpartisan voter information. This week’s Race of the Week article, the final in the series, takes a look at the race for Secretary of State.
The MHA encourages its members to vote Tuesday, Nov. 6 and thanks its MiCare Champions for ensuring our elected officials know how important healthcare is in this election cycle and beyond.
