Does a Hospital’s Ownership Matter?

Upcoming events and important healthcare news for the week of Sept. 17:
- The 2018 MHA Patient Safety & Quality Symposium will take place Tuesday and Wednesday at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest.
- As of Sept. 5, the hepatitis A outbreak that began in Michigan Aug. 1, 2016, has claimed 28 lives, hospitalized 713 residents, and sickened 173 more. To continue working to end the outbreak, the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services will host a clinician webinar from noon to 1 p.m. EDT Sept. 26.
- The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services hosts a series of immunization conferences each fall. In 2018, the immunization conferences will be held during October and November at eight separate locations.
- The Michigan Health Policy Forum will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 29 using the theme Searching for Sustainable Funding to Prevent Future Health Care Costs.
