  • The Great Lakes Partnership for Patients Hospital Improvement Innovation Network High Reliability Organization monthly webinar How the Joint Commission’s Revised Pain Standards Can Help Address the Opioid Epidemic will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. David Baker, MD, MPH, executive vice president for Healthcare Quality Evaluation at The Joint Commission, will discuss how the organization’s standards related to opioid prescriptions address the epidemic and form the foundation for an opioid stewardship program.   • Applications are being accepted through Oct. 1 for the 2019 American Hospital Association (AHA) Quest for Quality Prize, which recognizes extraordinary healthcare leadership and innovation in improving quality and advancing health in communities. Several Michigan hospitals have been recognized through the program since the award was established in 2002. More information and application forms are available on the AHA website.
